LISTENER COMMENTS

Hello! Good morning from the Far East! I m listening to Radio Free Kansas at my small room in the center of Tokyo, Japan. It's midnight here. This is my first time to send a mail to you. Yesterday I found your station on the web. I m so satisfied with nice numbers of 70's and 80's rock.(Satto from Tokyo)

Awesome station. Have been listening for about 10 days now. Beats any local radio or other internet stations. Hearing artists and groups that I have to pull out my old 8 track tapes if I want to listen to them.(Rick-Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada)

What a fantastic variation of music you play. I started listening to rock and progressive music in 1969 after watching Jethro Tull in Leeds . R.F.K.S is the best net station that I have found so please stick to your prog roots and i will be happy.(Ian-Leeds, UK)

You have managed to take a cross section of time, quality, and the obscure. The results--FANTASTIC!!(Michael-Washington,DC)

More Gentle Giant please, you are without a question the best station in the whole wide world(Brian Idle)

Listening in from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and enjoying every minute of it....I especially appreciated the recently aired interviews with Geddy Lee and Neil Peart. It's not too often we get to hear Neil speak outside of his music. And while I'm at it, I suppose I should say thanks for all the other bands you've introduced me to....I'm always guaranteed to hear something new and interesting on RFK. Thanks(Dominic)

I was just sitting here listening to you station and wanted to say thanks and to keep up the good work. I've been listening to RFKS for a couple of years now off and on and have discovered a lot of great music because of it. Thanks for your commitment to non-mainstream music. I love it! Jim (Colorado Springs, CO)

I just found your excellent station this week. I listen via RealOne at my work PC, and am really enjoying the progressiveness. Reminds me of how KSHE used to sound in the 70s. Keep up the good waves. (John)

I don't normally write a radio station, in fact I never have before, but after listening to your station for a few weeks I have to write to thank you for having the best station I have ever heard! Strange, but the best station on the Internet is right in my own backyard.(Mike-Wichita, Kansas)

Hi ! I'm from Brazil. And I can't believe that such a station as RFK exists. Although progressive rock is fairly popular here, it doesn't have any dedicated radio for it. Now I'm listening a Italian group called "Area" which is quite interesting. I've never heard of many of these bands you play. How can I get those records? Thank you and good work! Carlos(Brazil)

Your selection is great, we like the variety. Just keep playing whatever you want, your station is our cultural haven. Please just keep us sane. Loyally listening to Radio Free Kansas on RealOne Player. (T & M(Hubei, China)

I can't tell you how thrilled I was to find your site. I'm sure nostalgia got the better of me, but listening to the music truly brought me back 20 years to parties held out in some old farmhouse someone had rented. The eclectic mix of music and energy. My evening was pure bliss.( Kathryn from Los Angeles)

If RFK was a drug then I'm hooked. Truly amazing format.(Dave from New York City)

You've got something special going on here. You have forced me to open my ears and listen to rock music from other country's. Now you have me spending hundreds of dollars a month of new music.(Terry from Portland, Oregon)

I'd love to hear Squonk or Dance on a Volcano by Genesis( Hugh from Galway, Ireland)

Hello, Steve. Thank you for webcasting our tune. Indeed we got a message from one record company in U.S.A., and sent our demo-cd to them. (Yasuhiro Nishio (SHOW-YEN) from Osaka, Japan)

Hi! Inquire is a progressive Rock Band from Germany and has just released the second album. By the way, there is a short dedication to Radio Free Kansas in our booklet. Hope you like that. All the best.(Thomas )

Hey, wasssssuppp! I'm originally from Wichita and just wanted to say hi from San Antonio, TX. Keep up the good work! (Monte)

Hello Steve, I've finally got a machine at work that is powerful enough to listen to your shows. The variety of Krautrock material you play on your German rock show puts our local (north london) kosmische club to shame and I very much enjoyed the space rock show - I'm a long time Hawkwind fan and to be able to sit about at work listening to orgone accumulator really made my day. Well, in the meantime keep up the good work. Your a beacon of light in the Babel and confusion.(Zali from London)

Fantastic Job….RFK reminds me of the early days of FM radio ..back when the music was the emphasis. It's gotten so bloody commercialized on FM radio now that I now spend most of my time listening to you guys as well as a few others. I'm hooked. Stay independent and don't sell out. Thanks. ..John(Overland Park, Kansas)

RFK is what Net radio is all about. A happy listener from Seattle..Kelly.

Thanks for the Beatles interviews. Very cool. (Eric from Boston)

I've been a progressive fan since high school. Sites like yours and others make me wish I would have gotten on-line years ago! Thanks again!(Michael from Silvis, Iowa)

Hi. Just surfing from Ireland and heard your station. Great music! ( Alan)

Listening to RFK from here in Iceland….play some Bjork..she is from Iceland(Big A)

Your music format beats anything in my city (Los Angeles) and all I listen to now is Internet Radio and especially RFK…keep on doing your thing cause we are here listening. (Robert)

I listen to Internet Radio Free Kansas, frankly, because of how you DJ the show. So many other Internet radio stations just act like a jukebox and offer no enthusiasm. Now I know why Rolling Stone Magazine gave you kudos’. (John in Kansas City)

Back in the 80's when I was spinning wax at KLZR in Lawrence, I was convinced that there was a huge need for people to be able to hear music that wasn't programmed by corporations. It was always an uphill battle. Radio Free Kansas proves that all the consultants were wrong. Thanks.(SS)
